Cannabis in Thailand: How far will the green gold rush go?

Thailand made headlines all over the world last December when it became the first country in Southeast Asia to legalize cannabis for medical use and research purposes, sparking a race to cash in on what could someday become the country's main cash crop.

Full legalization was a core policy of the Bhumjaithai party's campaign in the March 24 election, which helped it win the fifth most seats in Thailand's new parliament.

Ontario is giving cannabis retailers an online sales entry point with click-and-collect plan

Ontario will allow private cannabis retailers to sell their products online or by phone for in-store pickup, in a significant move that chips away at the Ontario Cannabis Store’s monopoly on online cannabis sales. 

The province’s fall economic statement is proposing amendments to the current legislation around cannabis retail in order to “ensure consumers’ preferred cannabis products are available” and “wait times reduced” at the 25 retail stores that currently operate across the province. 

Former Canopy Growth CEO Bruce Linton joins US cannabis company's board

Cannabis pioneer and former Canopy Growth co-CEO Bruce Linton announced Thursday he’s landed a new job atop a growing U.S. marijuana company. 

Linton tells Yahoo Finance he’s taking on the role of Executive Chairman at Minneapolis-based Vireo Health (VREOF), a U.S. multi-state operator with licenses to operate in 10 states and Puerto Rico.
